I am Oli Lovell

I am an ex-civil servant, now consultant, who left after 23 years to trade stability for influence and follow a personal quest to achieve systemic change. Rather than to simply persist within the constraints of the same system for the rest of my career.

Central to that, was to find others who also care about the challenge, and to work with a wider range of organisations. To test what had worked for me in new contexts. And to help others along the way.

The writing here is a reflection of that learning over a career. Whether smaller, disruptive change. leading the running and transformation of a £150m-per-year critical data service, or helping clients make sustainable improvement to delivery - The themes are always the same. How to get things done despite a system that increasingly felt like it was gradually adding friction rather than improving conditions.

I am under no illusion that I can effect systemic change alone. But I do care enough to write, share and engage with others.
